As you are aware Srikalahasthi is one among the holy pilgrimage places in Andhra Pradesh. Every day thousands of pilgrims from various places arrive here to have darshan and to perform Rahu Kethu pooja to eliminate all Doshas and to have happy, prosperous and peaceful life.
In 1923, late Sri Vankayala Kuppiah Chetty of Chennai, a great philanthropist with a view to provide shelter and food to the pilgrims on Mahasivarathri day, established Srikalahasthi Dharma Sathram at Srikalahasthi, very near to temple.
Further, in the year 1969, one of the trustees late Sri Maddhali Raghaviah Chetty had introduced Thadhiyaradhana i.e providing lunch and dinner free for all the pilgrims during Mahasivarathri festival, and is being continued every year for the past 42 years. Apart from the above, poor feeding and butter milk is served during noon to pilgrims.
In 2005, with the efforts of Sri Maddhali Sreenivasulu along with six other trustees, we had started a Nithya Anna Santharpana in the name of Srikalahasthi Vasavi Nithya Annasantharpana Samstha under which, daily we feed hundreds of pilgrims who come to Srikalahasthi.
A function was organized at chennai 6th December 2009 to release the Brouchure by Sri K.V.Ramana Shetty, Managing Director of M/s.G.K.Shetty Builders Pvt. Ltd., The first copy was received by Sri. K.Madhusudan M.L.A and a leading Industrialist of Gooty in Andhra Pradesh. All these are being carried out with the help of like minded people’s donations and from the visitor’s appreciation in the form of donations for the hospitality shown towards them.
Work for the construction of New Anna Santharpana Building was started on 4th June 2010 with Bhoomi Pooja held at Srikalahasthi. All the trustees and well wishers participated in this occasion performed with the blessings of Srivasavikanyaka Parameswari and Sri Gnanaprasunambasameetha Srikalahastheeswara Swami.
Presently, we have under construction at Srikalahasthi, about 12000 sq.ft of built up area in ground plus four floors consisting of Deluxe Rooms with all ultra modern facilities, Nithya Annasantharpana Dining hall, Dormitory, Kitchen and amenities like Lift, Generator, Mineral water etc., In tune with modern day life style, we aim to provide maximum comforts and to provide peaceful stay in our choultry.
